Market Strategy It is a well-known fact that most markets are declining in parts volume. Ignition leads in particular are being replaced with direct ignition systems and generally O.E. parts are lasting longer as quality improves all the time. This in turn has lead to increasing consolidation at all levels of the market and has given the big brand names a distinct advantage. As a result Carol developed a strategy based on specialist sub-contract manufacturing for these big brand distributors. This focus on sub-contract and low cost manufacturing has made Carol the no. 1 supplier in Europe of private brand ignition lead programmes. We offer the only true “turn-key” solution to new programme launches supplying full product specifications, engineering drawings, applications data and stock profiling for your area. Superior Product
The last 20 years has seen dramatic changes to the design of ignition leads by the O.E. vehicle builders. Before the advent of complex on board electronics and diagnostic systems, ignition leads were very simple and were considered a mere conductor for the high-tension spark. Now they are an integrated and engineered product that has to be manufactured to the highest standards of reliability preventing any chance of mis-fire and the damage that would result to other systems such as catalytic converters. In addition engines have become smaller, more powerful and run at much higher temperatures. Couple all this with less space in the engine compartment, and you can see that not only are the physical demands of the product more extreme than 2 decades ago, but the design of the connectors has become much more exacting as space and accessibility reduces. During this time Carol Cable has continued to
remain at the forefront of the aftermarket, designing ignition lead sets
as an exact match for the O.E. part where possible, and always to meet

programme of ignition leads and sets, is the latest development of a range
that has continually evolved, to keep pace with the changing demands of
both vehicle technology and customer requirements; both of which have
changed dramatically over the last twenty years. The current PROSPARK
range consists of over 520 sets and 330 single leads providing exceptional
coverage of the European vehicle parc. All products are comprehensively
catalogued in an easy to use format, supported by a complete set of product
illustrations, assuring distributors and installers of right first time
product selection.
